Written In Stone is an ongoing project to produce an original animated series set in a fictional near future (2055). The story follows Petra, an orphan from Cairo, Egypt. Petra has a psychic power called Psychometry which allows her to read memories and emotions from physical objects and people. When she touches an object or person she can receive psycho-somatic data in the form of visions and impressions of past events and happenings. The more emotional an event the clearer the visions are that Petra receives. Petra eventually gets wrapped up in a mystery stretching back 12,800 years. 

 

WWIII began in the year 2045. It was initially fought utilizing A.I but the neural networks rebelled and the war quickly turned into one for humanities survival. In 2050 a Hero emerged who in a last ditch effort to save humanity overloaded the Hadron Collider. For a moment the world fell silent and so too did the A.I. The cost of survival was high, but the divided world that emerged was also filled with a renewed vigor. As the surviving A.I networks fled to the liminal and abandoned spaces left in the wake of WWIII people began to rebuild, a new international city emerged in reverence to the hero who saved them.

The city is called Barbelo and is a sprawling multi-cultural metropolis situated in between the Caspian and Aral Seas. Petra, our protagonist, works as an intelligence agent in the city's military apparatus. Petra is a highly skilled operative with a psychic power called Psychometry, allowing her to read psycho-somatic data stored on people and objects in the form of visions and impressions. The more emotional an event the clearer the visions are that Petra receives. This power eventually leads her to discover a secret stretching back 12,800 years to the dawn of civilization. The Series will follow Petra as she stumbles through a mystery way above her pay grade.
